Family Focused

Attorney Jacquelyn Grant Jones was born and raised in Lowndes County, Alabama, one of the Historic Black Belt Communities of Alabama.  She is a loving wife to United States Navy Senior Chief Kelvin Jones, Sr. and the mother of two beautiful children, Kaitlyn and Kelvin, Jr. She currently resides in the Jefferson County area where she has been actively involved in the community for the last 19 years. Family is a very important part of her life. She values family and knows the importance of working hard to provide for them. In her spare time, she loves to return to her hometown to spend time with her family. 

Jacquelyn received her undergraduate degree from the Illustrious Tuskegee University in 2003. After graduating from Tuskegee University, she went on to earn her Juris Doctorate Degree from Miles Law School in 2007. Upon graduating law school, Jacquelyn was admitted to the Alabama State Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Alabama, where she has actively practiced law for the last 15 years.

New Vision

When Jacquelyn began her legal career, she did so with one thought in mind- to provide quality legal representation, but not just that, to provide it to those who could not always afford to pay the high hourly fees most attorneys charge. She opened the Law Firm of Grant-Jones Legal in 2008 and her primary focus has been in the areas of Family Law, Divorce, Estate Planning, Bankruptcy, Property and Personal Injury.  

 

Jacquelyn has had many accomplishments as an attorney, she serves as Special District Judge for the Family Court Division of Jefferson County, Daily Master for the Jefferson County Domestic Relations Court and is a Trained Mediator in Domestic Relations and Civil Litigation. She has been the featured guest on the television show Law Call, wherein she was called upon as an expert to answer legal questions to viewers all over the state of Alabama. 

 

She maintains membership with Birmingham Bar Association, Magic City Bar Association, Bessemer Bar Association, Alabama Lawyers Association, Birmingham Area Tuskegee Alumni Association, Miles Law School Alumni Association.

New Direction

Outside of her law practice, Jacquelyn strives to be actively involved in the community. Some of her community involvement includes the Junior League of Birmingham, Metro Birmingham NAACP, Community Affairs Committee, and host of other community-based organizations. She was the 2023 recipient of the Women’s History Award presented by the Community Affairs Committee for her outstanding service in the Community. Jacquelyn is a Proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Although Jacquelyn has a wide array of legal experience in different areas of law, her passion is and has always been Family Law. Which is why she has officially launched her Judicial Campaign and she is now running to be your next Jefferson County District Judge for Family Court, in the Birmingham Division. The Democratic Primary Election, will be held March 5, 2024. You can count on her to be fair, impartial and treat everyone with compassion and respect as they deal with their complex family matters.

 

On March 5, 2024, she ask that you please go to the polls and VOTE Jacquelyn Grant Jones for Jefferson County District Court Judge, Family Court Division- Place 3.
